Silver Sage Steakhouse in Fort Garland

Really delicious cheese burger and fries! The side salad is a little expensive. But good. All in all, we really enjoyed our dinner. Service and food were both awesome! We will go back when coming through this blink of a town! The burger prices are great! Other dinners are quite high. But it costs a lot to be in business.

Tasty steak and baked potato. Meat was cooked perfectly, everything was piping hot. Country casual atmosphere. Wait staff works hard. If I had to give any con, it would be that their water doesn't taste the greatest. Easy fix..we had cocktails!

For a tinny town in Southern Colorado this place is a jewel. The owners are very friendly and the quality of service is great. They have great steak dinners. Highly recommend if you are passing through Ft. Garland. Be aware that they do have limited hours. I think they are only open from Thursday to Sunday 3 to 8PM during the winter.

Decent food for being a long way from anywhere. Friendly, reasonably fast service. Fresh coffee, steaks fresh but seriously salty. Crispy chicken ranch sandwich was a bit dry but had good taste. Full bar, limited selection of bottled / draft beers, some wine.

We were staying in town at RV park came in for a bite. Unsure of this place because it was a small town. We were pleasently surprised. Being from Texas we like a good steak. The food was awesome. Salad was fresh, onion rings were to die for, then the steaks came. Awesome cooked to perfection, food was played beautifully. We came in a hour before closing and they were busy and had large groups. They never missed a beat. We will be returning.

Cozy, good service, yummy steak selections. Salads are extra with entre. Desserts look great on others guests tables.

We absolutely love the Silver Sage. Great food, super friendly staff.They are only open Thursday through Sunday and their hours vary depending on season. Call ahead for reservations! They can get pretty busy.

Great small town family type of restaurant. Food was good, for what we chose off the menu. Service was great.

Steaks on the tough side, and every thing else is extra. Other wise the place very nice and clean.

The steaks are always tender and juicy and deliciously seasoned! The wait staff are incredibly friendly and low key. We eat here at least once a month and have never had a bad experience. Perfect small town casual place. Love it!

Wonderful experience with the ladies up front. Great food.. terrible service, I can't believe they auto grated us for 50 bucks. Our server sucked. We went without drinks most of the dinner. We had to go to the bar to order drinks twice. Even my son's soda refills. One in our party Frank water and never got a refill. Her father had tea.. came with no ice and no refills. She didn't earn half what we were forced to tip. Such a shame. Came with no reservation on father's day. We were seated immediately and for that were are extremely grateful.

Meh, was here at the end of July 2019. Had the Ribeye special. The steak was good, cooked properly and seasoned enough, though I personally would have preferred a more aggressive amount of salt and pepper. The service was okay. My main complaint was with the macaroni and cheese. It's listed under sides (not kids menu), so I ordered it thinking it would be a classic steakhouse mac and cheese, baked with buttery breadcrumbs, maybe a couple different cheeses. However what I received was literally...literally Kraft blue box mac n cheese. Complete with the neon orange powdered cheese. Unbelievable let-down. For the rather high price I was shelling out for the steak, I was hoping for a more premium experience.

A must stop. 5 star service, in a small town. Love it!

The barbeque ribs were outstanding, sling with a baked potato and salad. Everyone in our group of 6 loved their meal. The others had sirloin or burgers. Service was excellent, constantly offering refills and checking to see if we needed anything. The inside was very nice and they arr set up for music too.

Very good steakhouse. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and the ribeye I ordered was cooked to perfection and the best I've had in a long while. Definitely will be coming back when I'm in the area.

Awesome hidden gem in this tiny little town!!! Tried it for dinner while staying there to see the Great Sand Dunes. I haven't eaten red meat in a few years, but I decided it was a special occasion and I was in the mood for a steak. That was the best cooked steak I have ever had!!! Everything my friend and I had was absolutely delicious! They have some awesome chefs in this place, and if you need to drive out of your way to get here, do it! In addition, the service was excellent too. I meant to write down our server's name--Ricardo? Ramero? perhaps? But he was wonderful and took good care of us. Skip the Sand Dunes. Just come here and eat!!! :)

Great service and absolutely delicious food!

We love this place! Steaks are always super fresh and they also have some cheaper options if you are dining on a budget. The only thing that is strange to me is that nothing includes sides you have to add them all on if you want more then a meat. The waitresses are always so nice and patient.

Definitely the pick of the local town restaurants. The food was hot, timely, and great staff. Considering you are in the middle of no where, this is definitely a great spot to stop. We had the steak skillets, a steakhouse beef sandwich, a burger, grilled cheese and pizza... it was all great and the pricing is very fair.

Great place to eat and very good service at the base of Mt. Blanca. Try the mussels!

My husband got food poisoning. I didnt even get to eat because my meal came out an hour after his and it was cold, it was a bowl of chili. So we had it removed from our bill and left. The only thing we got fresh was the coffee😂 but our waiter was really friendly and understanding about the food.

Food was so good. Building was cold everyone was having dinner with their coats on. If it wasn't that the food was good I would not go back. Hate to have dinner wearing my coat.

Gorgeous and convenient location right off 160. This is the best place to eat in the blanca/fg area, in my opinion. A little pricey but no worse than a red lobster or olive garden anywhere else, and the food is a million times better. Cute, homey interior with small town charm. If you're not on a tight budget and if you dont want to drive all the way to alamosa or la veta for a delicious, stick-to-your ribs meal, this is the place to go! I've had great food and great service every time I've come here.

The mussels were great!! However the sirloin I ordered medium well was bloody rare...had to send it back to be cooked some more. Nothing erks me more than my steak not being cooked correctly. Not sure if I will go back!!

Excellent burger, hotdog and bread pudding! Server was new but super nice. The whole staff was friendly and we will definitely be back when we come through town. Menu is ala carte but very affordable!

Excellent service and food. Great for families and crowds. Nice well kept decor. Recommend this place without reguard. Definately worth the price we paid.
